OUR “WHY” DRIVES US

Before “company purpose” was common, we identified our WHY – which is to create and provide a diversity of opportunities for all. Our WHY drives us to challenge the status quo and break down barriers. It guides our work and how we engage with our employees, clients, partners, and the community.

WHAT’S NEW WITH JOSTIN?

Jostin Construction at ACI Construction Career Days 2025 | VIP Experience
At Jostin Construction, our why is simple — to Create and Provide a Diversity of Opportunity for All. That purpose was front and center as we proudly served as the VIP Sponsor of the 2025 Allied Construction Industries Construction Career Days. We didn’t just show up — we connected. We listened. We made space. We asked students what they want to see more of from companies like ours.
From hands-on concrete and general contracting demos to real conversations with local students exploring career pathways in the trades, we showed up with intention. This is what building the next generation of construction leadership looks like — and we’re just getting started.
Albert Smitherman, Founder and CEO of Jostin Construction, was honored with the Spirit of Construction  Lifetime Achievement Award, which recognizes individuals for their lifetime contributions to the construction industry and to the civic, aesthetic, and economic wellbeing of the Greater Cincinnati Region.
“The greatest thing about this career is helping change peoples’ lives, including Liza’s and my own. In our career, to be able to understand what we have been blessed with, to be able to work for ourselves, come to work every single day and know that we’re working for ourselves with a great group of people, it’s just been wonderful.” – Albert C. Smitherman, CEO at Jostin Construction
Congratulations and #MuchLove to our CEO, Albert C. Smitherman for well-earned recognition of the legacy you are building and leading every day.
