Laborer 1

SUMMARY OF DUTIES

Will report to the Field Operations Manager and provide support throughout a construction project. The person in this position needs to have the ability to be flexible as this position may perform various functions throughout a shift. General Construction - Superintendent

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

To provide on-site coordination for all phases of the job, including direction of field professionals, carpenters and laborers; coordinating material and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being strictly followed, and work is proceeding on schedule. Superintendent also assists in other responsibilities including scheduling, inspections, quality control, and job site safety.The person in this position will need to be comfortable working in a public setting. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for running the day-to-day operations on the construction site and controlling the short-term schedule.
  • The Superintendent drives quality control maintains all safety protocols and has subcontractor coordination responsibilities.
  • Supervise trade contractors involved in the project and monitor the quality of their work daily.
  • Assist and supervise internal craft force on self-performance items.
  • Supervise the job site to meet or exceed all OSHA requirements for personnel and property safety.
  • Assist the Project Manager in preparing an updating the project’s master schedule.
  • Hold weekly safety & project meetings individually with all documentation of paperwork.
  • Promote a safe work environment for everyone on and off the project site.
  • Ensure project delivered safely, on-time, within budget and to the strictest of quality standards.
  • Manage all aspects of job-site logistics, cleanup, scheduling, deliveries, lay-down, hoisting, coordination, etc.
  • Manage the inspection process and maintain detailed inspection logs.
  • Assist in permit process as required.
  • Communicate and coordinate with all consultants, designers, engineers, municipalities, subcontractors, suppliers, utilities, and other 3rd parties effectively.
  • Manage project closeout and punch list.
  • Participate in on-going training opportunities as required.
  • Assist the Project Manager with miscellaneous responsibilities as required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 5-7 years successful experience as an onsite, lead commercial construction Superintendent.
  • Strong technical and communication skills.
  • Construction document and drawing literate, with knowledge of all phases of construction.
  • Experience and proficiency in all divisions of work, methods, materials, scheduling, and cost control.
  • OSHA 10 is required; OSHA 30-hour certified a plus.
  • Experience with Estimating construction projects, bid processes, assembling scope of work, and subcontractor scope review.
  • Familiar with management software (Procore, Bluebeam, Field ease.)

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Preferred: BS in Construction Management, Business, Finance or Closely Related field of study.

Pump Operator

View Description

SUMMARY OF DUTIES

The Pump Operator must have a commercial driver’s license (CDL) is responsible for driving to and from pour locations and operating a concrete boom pump, keeping the truck and equipment clean and in good operating condition. This position is required to have the ability to operate concrete pumps of various boom lengths. The operator will be expected to work irregular hours including weekends when necessary. Schedules can always change at any time therefore the operator needs to be flexible and able to work overtime.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Move the pump safely to and from the job site. Ascertain that all safety and precautionary measures are put into place before, during and after each project.
    • Follow manufacturer guidelines and safety requirements.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure that concrete pumps operate in accordance with DOT regulations.
  • Evaluate site conditions and works with contractors and superintendents to park and set up the truck properly.
  • Load and unload concrete pump attachments and ensure that all associated tools are used in a safe manner.
  • Operate the pump in a safe and conscientious manner, set up the system, and clean out the pump after the job.
  • Evaluate concrete mix designs and the effects of hot and cold conditions on concrete mixes.
  • Pump concrete to customer satisfaction meeting the company’s quality standards with respect to yards per hour in the safest manner.
  • Perform maintenance on the pump. Recognize and report problems with the pump when they arise. Ensure that pump remains in good working condition.
  • Keep truck and pump washed and free of concrete and ready for next job.
  • Complete required paperwork, including but not limited to pump inspection forms, job tickets, invoices and maintenance forms.

KNOWLEDGE:

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

This classification requires the mastering of the laborer classification skill set as well as the Carpenter 1 skillset. This position will report to the Superintendent and provide support throughout a construction project. The person in this position needs to have the ability to be flexible as this position may perform various functions throughout a shift. The person in this position will need to be comfortable working in a public setting. Jostin requires all employees to work collaboratively as a team with other Jostin employees and trade partners.

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of general contracting
  • Knowledge of power tools and proper means of operation
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and best practices on a construction site
  • Knowledge of general trade work
