Level 1:
Summary of Duties:
The Laborer 1 position is an entry level position which graduates to more skilled level ability. The successful Laborer 1 will master the following:
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of commercial concrete pump place finish.
- Knowledge of power tools
- Knowledge of safety procedures and best practices on a construction site.
SKILLS:
The skill to clean, stack, oil, and remove wall panels – When panels are to be cleaned, all concrete is to be removed as best as possible, all of the holes must be cleaned out, the panels must be stacked in a neat and orderly fashion, when oiling the panels, all sides and facing must be thoroughly oiled in a fine mist, when removing the panels, the face must be taken care of.
- The skill to crumb footers – Must be proper depth, width, and clean.
- The skill to knock concrete down to grade (having an “eye” for grade).
- The skill to pull wire – Pull wire to the upper third part of the freshly poured concrete’s elevation.
- The skill to cure (fine mist and sprayed on a consistent manner)
ABILITIES:
- The ability to lay wire, insulation and plastic – Wire must have 1 square overlap; plastic must have 2 foot overlap.
- The ability to clean company tools each day and place in proper location.
- The ability to clean concrete pump pipe and clamps.
- The ability to wreck forms and light demolition.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Ability to successfully pass a drug screening and motor vehicle review.
- The ability to work irregular hours including weekends when necessary.
- The ability to work in harsh weather conditions for long periods of time.
- The ability to exert oneself physically over long periods of time without getting winded or out of breath.
- The ability to use abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over
- Willingness to commute within a 200-mile radius.

Level 2:
Summary of Duties:
The Laborer 2 position has mastered the essential functions of the Laborer 1 position and demonstrates an intermediate knowledge of Laborer 2 work.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of commercial concrete pump place finish.
- Knowledge of power tools.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and best practices on a construction site.
- Knowledge of traffic control and truck hand signs.
SKILLS:
- The skill to tie and place steel – Must be straight, and have the proper spacing between the rebar, they must be secure. Must be three inches away from all soil when in footer.
- The skill to operate a compactor – Must establish an eye for grade and be able to perform all laboring acts at this level.
- The skill to hang tar paper and expansion – Set to grade and secured.
- The skill to pull wire – Pull wire to the upper third part of the freshly poured concrete’s elevation.
- The skill to cure (fine mist and sprayed on a consistent manner)
ABILITIES:
- The ability to pour walls – Must be at proper elevation, rebar must not touch the wall panels, must be flat, proper rebar, smooth sides
- The ability to pour footers – Concrete must be dispersed in proper locations, have proper rebar, concrete must be on grade.
- The ability to check rough and fine grades – Must have knowledge of the granular fills; must hold laser receiver plumb.
- The ability to prep machines for pour – includes cleaning check/change blades, oiling and greasing.
- The ability to place concrete – Placing concrete from truck.
- The ability to operate vibrator – Must be able to operate vibrator according to specified standards. Be cautious not to over-vibrate, must be consistent, removing any honeycombs.
- The ability to insert footing dowels – Must be straight, in proper locations, proper width apart.
- The ability to rake behind screeders – Rake consistently, fill holes and remove high areas ahead of the rail.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficient as a Laborer 1
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Ability to successfully pass a drug screening and motor vehicle review.
- The ability to work irregular hours including weekends when necessary.
- The ability to work in harsh weather conditions for long periods of time.
- The ability to exert oneself physically over long periods of time without getting winded or out of breath.
- The ability to use abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without giving out or fatiguing.
- Willingness to commute within a 200-mile radius.

Level 3:
Summary of Duties:
The Laborer 3 holds the senior role in this classification. This individual is in position to assume the Level One Finisher role in the Finisher job classification.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of commercial concrete pump place finish.
- Knowledge of power tools.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and best practices on a construction site.
- Knowledge of traffic control and truck hand signs.
- Knowledge of pump and crane hand signals.
- Knowledge of general trade work
SKILLS:
- The skills to manage one’s own time and the time of others.
- The skill to influence others and make decisions in the best interest of JOSTIN.
ABILITIES:
- The ability to layout footer and wall steel- Must be straight, and have the proper spacing between the rebar; must be secure.
- The ability to install waler brackets – Must be installed at proper height and in proper locations, 2 x 4’s should be set at a four foot offset in the walers.
- The ability to operate skid steer – Must have completed the Skid steer Loader Training Course. The operator must be both safe and productive.
- The ability to prep machines for pour – includes cleaning check/change blades, oiling and greasing.
- The ability to float walls and footers – All voids filled, imperfections removed, humps removed, must be level.
- The ability to Install turnbuckles – Must be installed securely and in proper locations.
- The ability to Trowel Walls – Must be slick, on grade, imperfections removed, held at proper pitch, humps removed, voids filled.
- The ability to assume the team lead position managing a labor crew.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficient as a Laborer 1 and 2
- Have a certified Rigger Certificate
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Ability to successfully pass a drug screening and motor vehicle review.
- The ability to work irregular hours including weekends when necessary.
- The ability to work in harsh weather conditions for long periods of time.
- The ability to exert oneself physically over long periods of time without getting winded or out of breath.
- The ability to use abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without giving out or fatiguing.
- Willingness to commute within a 200-mile radius.
